Training Resources

Several types of BPI trainings are available to help you pass the BPI exam. While formal training is not required to become a BPI Building Analyst, most students will need it to pass the field and written exams and successfully perform home energy audits.

Classroom Trainings

Classroom trainings are often a week or more, and generally will have a field training component included. Some will also have the field and exam proctoring included, though most students need some additional study time before taking the exam.

Online Trainings

Online trainings are available that often don't include field training portions. Students can practice on their own following along with the Building Analyst Field Training Video, or find a field training or mentor. Building Science Tech offers field training and mentoring services in Washington, DC and Lancaster, PA.

Finally, once you feel ready to take the exam, you will need to find a proctor for both the field and written portions of the BPI exam. Your trainer will be able to direct you to find a local proctor. Building Science Tech offers proctoring for BPI candidates in Washington, DC and Lancaster, PA.
